DAIRY
COUNCIL OF CALIFORNIA'S COMMUNICATION EFFORTS RECEIVE KUDOS
Sacramento Public Relations Association
Honors Organization with Three Awards
SACRAMENTO - April 8, 2004 - Dairy Council of California
receives three Sacramento Public Relations Association awards for
its achievements in consumer communications.
Dairy Council
received a gold, silver and honorable mention award in the World
Wide Web, short-term public relations campaign and promotional device
categories, respectively.
"These awards
speak to the excellent communications programs we have at the Dairy
Council," said Peggy Biltz, Dairy Council CEO. "The staff has developed
these successful campaigns that inform key audiences of the healthful
benefits of milk and dairy foods. The awards are well deserved."
A gold award
went to Dairy Council for the redesign of Meals
Matter, a website staffed by registered dieticians and dedicated
to promoting healthy food choices for families that include the
range of dairy foods. With the redesign and re-launch of the website,
Dairy Council was able to triple the amount of visits to the site
from the previous year.
Meals Matter
was also honored with a silver award for its back-to-school campaign
that included marketing, public relations and promotional strategies
to raise awareness of the site and secure new users to register
for ongoing communications from the Dairy Council.
Dairy Council
received an honorable mention for its 2003-2004 calendar, which
was distributed to educators and health professionals. The calendar
not only alerted key audiences of Dairy Council's new logo, it also
provided useful health and wellness tips, information on Dairy Council's
nutrition education programs and recipes from the Meals Matter website.
The Sacramento
Public Relations Society annually awards organizations and agencies
that have achieved excellence in communication efforts in the Sacramento
area.
Meals Matter
is sponsored by Dairy Council and allows users to search for recipes,
receive customized meal planning and nutrition tools, create shopping
lists and more.
Dairy Council
of California has been providing nutrition education programs to
schools and health professionals for nearly 85 years. Available
in both Spanish and English, Dairy Council's programs encourage
healthy food choices from all food groups and daily physical activity.
