The Dairy Council of California provides a wide variety of nutrition education handouts appropriate for use in both health professional and classroom settings. They are also useful for parent education and after-school youth activities. Click topics below to see a variety of downloadable nutrition education handout options. Many handouts are available in both English and Spanish.

Healthy Eating for Adults

This section includes a variety of healthy-eating handouts for adults. The information is based on the 2010 US Dietary Guidelines and is consistent with the Choose MyPlate recommendations. Handouts are available that help to define healthy foods and beverages and offer healthy lifestyle tips.

 

Parent Education - How to Raise a Healthy Eater

This section has a wide complement of downloadable handouts that can be used in parent education settings. There are handouts for parents with preschool children and school-age children. The most popular handouts are on the topics of healthy breakfast, how to pack a healthy lunch and healthy snacks kids will eat.

 

Healthy Eating Tip Sheets for Kids and Teens

There are many opportunities to reinforce the nutrition education that children receive in school. Handouts available for younger children include Color My Pyramid and Color My Pizza. Eat Well, Be Active! and Reach for a Healthy Beverage are geared for older children and teens.

 

Milk and Dairy Foods

Milk and dairy foods are an important part of a healthy diet. The most popular topics covered in this section include vitamin D, whey, flavored milk, probiotics, functional foods and lactose intolerance.
