Food Day, October 24, 2011

Food Day is a nationwide campaign for healthy, delicious, and affordable food produced in a sustainable and humane way. Modeled after Earth Day, Food Day gives us the chance to celebrate the many benefits of food – nutrition, flavor, cultural tradition – and to remind others of the power of nutrition education and the tremendous amount California agriculture gives back to its communities.

Celebrate Food Day with Nutrition Education

To celebrate Food Day, we encourage you to share a positive approach to nutrition by teaching or distributing one of our nutrition education programs.

If you want to mark Food Day with family meals, take our Facebook pledge to Eat Better, Eat Together with more balanced family meals.

Celebrate California Agriculture

Learn more about the initiatives the dairy industry is working on by reading Sustainability and the Dairy Industry.

Check out these videos in which California dairy families describe what sustainability means to them.

To celebrate the numerous contributions California agriculture makes to its communities, we are asking those who blog or write about farming to please share a story of how you give back to the community by producing healthy, delicious, affordable food in a sustainable way. If you write a blog in celebration of Food Day, please email the URL to info@dairycouncilofca.org to be featured in our Food Day blog post.
